Commercial Estate Street Lighting Upgrade

Back to Our Work

Victor Group Limited was appointed to upgrade the external and street lighting across a portfolio of commercial estates managed by a single property group, with sites at Fulham, Maple Cross, and Canary Wharf. The existing sodium and legacy metal halide column lighting was ageing beyond economic maintenance — frequent lamp failures, poor colour rendering, and inconsistent light levels were creating safety concerns and increasing management overhead.

Victor LED designed a replacement scheme using IP66-rated LED lanterns matched to the existing column infrastructure wherever possible, minimising civils costs and programme duration. Colour temperature and lux levels were specified to comply with BS EN 13201 road and area lighting standards, with particular attention to the pedestrian areas and car parks at the Canary Wharf site, which required higher light levels and improved uniformity.

Victor Power managed the electrical supplies, including timeswitch replacement, photocell upgrades, and distribution connections at each site. All columns were inspected, and structural assessments were carried out as part of the works — a number of columns at the Maple Cross site were replaced as part of the same programme. Full as-built documentation was provided to the client's facilities management team on completion.
